An old author suffering from writer’s block
Drowned his sorrows in women and hock.
He found sweet delight
In pretty Miss White
But she didn’t cure his writer’s block!

Just Dust
I find my scalp flaking.
Bits of dead skin escaping.
But they are not me
For I am sweet poetry.
Yet my little sun
Shall one day become
Just dust.
There is No Light
There is no light
To brighten the night
As I pass
Along the churchyard path
Just gusting wind
Eternal as the rain.

As I Strolled Home on Valentine’s Day
As I strolled home on Valentine’s day
I met a young lady named Fay.
When I said, “you are divine.
Do say you’ll be my Valentine!”
Fay said, “its extra on Valentine’s day …”.
My Hair is Thinning
My hair is thinning.
I drink and think
On sinning with women.
And, as I drink
I ponder on
Where my hair
Has upped and gone!

Heels at Night
Heels at night.
Delight and pain.
Her disdain.
His lust.
All dust.
Their mutual shame.
There Was a Young Lady Named Ball
There was a young lady named Ball
Who hung around the old music hall.
The great bishop Hocking
Found it real shocking
So he disciplined Ball in his hall …!
There Once Was a Poet Named Black
There once was a poet named Black
Who read his poetry in the outback.
When they threw rotten fruit
He played his old flute
And he threw that fruit right back!
