Leprechaun
A young lady named Dawn
Has most solemnly sworn,
That whilst out last night
By the moon’s bright light,
She saw a leprechaun!

by the star’s bright light
She stole my leprechaun!

When a young lady named Dawn
Said, “I saw a leprechaun!”,
My friend Miss Spink
Gave me a wink,
Which displeased that young lady Dawn!
The Magic Order
Once grown
We are thrown
Out of that magic place
Where the fairy’s face
Is by children seen.
The fairy queen
We may perceive
From afar,
Yet we must remember who we are
As it does grieve
Her when an adult crosses the border,
And disturbs the sacred order

Children should be allowed to be children, and not forced to grow up before their time.

I am pleased to publish the below announcement by my friend, author Victoria (Tori) Zigler:
For those who don’t know, I write poetry, as well as books for children of various ages.
Back in 2012, I started publishing my books in multiple eBook formats. Then, in early 2015, I decided it was way past time I started making my books available in paperback for those who still prefer physical copies of books.
Now, more than a year later, I’m pleased to be able to report that I’m all caught up with my backlist, and every book of mine for which the publication date has been and gone, is now available not just in multiple eBook formats, but also in paperback too.
The eBooks are available via Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, Apple iBooks, Kobo, and the other places Smashwords distributes to. Plus, if your local library supports eBook lending, you may be able to find my books as eBooks there (or request that your library orders copies).
The paperbacks are available via CreateSpace, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and any other places CreateSpace books are available from, including any libraries happy to order copies.
Future titles will also be made available as paperbacks as well as eBooks.

The Horseman
How easy to construe
The new and inviting
For what is true.
The ride exciting
Will
Thrill
For a while.
The denial
That a thing has become banal
Shall
Not prevent it from being so.
The rider halfheartedly says “woe”
But the horse
Will continue on it’s familiar course.
“I will turn back”the horsemen doth say
“Yet how easy it is to stay
On the well trodden way.
The day
Grows dark
And the lark
Has long since ceased to sing.
The weary fairies in their ring
To me call.
Oh, how easy ‘Tis to fall …”.

“The Light Of Dawn And Other Poems” By Victoria (Tori) Zigler – Book Review
“The Light Of Dawn” by Victoria (Tori) Zigler is a highly enjoyable and thought provoking collection of poetry. The poems range from verse dealing with the passing of the seasons through to poems about the natural world and more humorous verses. In the latter category “The Finest Young Man From New York” made me smile as did the author’s other humorous poems.
As regards the more serious poems in this collection, Victoria’s “Time Stopped” particularly resonated with me,
“I swear this night won’t end
No Matter what I do.
I wish the time would change
Like I want it to”.
We have all, I believe been in the self-same situation of wishing that the clock would move on allowing us to leave a given situation, only to feel that time has become stuck and we must, forever remain trapped.
The author’s poem, “Appearance” also struck me. In “Appearance” she asks why people worry so much about how people look. Why indeed? Are there not far more important issues in the world we should concern ourselves with.
The collection contains several poems dealing with fairies. Children will love these as will adults with an interest in folk tales.

The Autumn Of My Years
Now that I have reached the Autumn of my years
and the grey has chased the brown away
shall I forget the undiscovered rose
whose perfume
hangs in the air
on a spring night
replete with pure delight?
Should I wear sensible shoes
And lose
The joy of walking
Barefoot on grass?
Shall I seek the fairies dancing
Or insist
They do not exist?
I must persist
In my search for bliss
For to be alive
Is to strive
for something more
Than to achieve the title “saloon bar bore”.
I am not a bee in a hive
A mere part of the whole
Lacking a soul.
Joy is my goal!
