The Dance

Entranced, he watched the dance,
As the girl
Did whirl,
Her feet
Kicking up the dust
Of poets, and dancers,
And other chancers,
Who you may meet
And pass, on the street
Without a second glance.
And the age-old dance
Goes on,
But the dust
Of those long gone
Is not disturbed
By a young woman’s dancing feet

Wednesday Humour

A beautiful young lady from France
Asked me whether I wished to dance.
As we started to waltz
I said, “are you false?”
She replied, “shush, just enjoy the dance!”.

When a naughty young lady called Samantha
Went to school with her panther
The teacher looked black
And said, “take it straight back,
I have no room for your panther!”.

There Was A Young Man From Eeling

There was a young man from Eeling
Who liked to dance on the ceiling.
His neighbour said,
“Your visits I dread
As you always dance on my ceiling!”.

There was a young man from Eeling
Who liked to dance on the ceiling.
The girl nextdoor
Said “I implore
You to come and dance on my ceiling!”.

Waltz

It takes a couple to waltz.
With beauty charming
And character disarming
She does dance
And romance
Until the sun’s ray’s lance
The comforting dark
And a new day starts.

Both parties are willing
But does the payment of a shilling
To the girl
Who does so seductively twirl
Render their interaction
An exploititive transaction
And the waltz false?
