When I found wicked Miss Miranda
Lurking on my fine old Veranda,
I gave her a smile
And said, “in a while
I shall release my panda Miranda!”.
I See the Stopped Clock
I see the stopped clock
And feel the autumn chill.
This hot tea
Will
Warm me.
But all clocks
Stop
In the end,
My friend
Walking Through the Churchyard, in the Autumn Dark
Walking through the churchyard,
In the autumn dark
I missed your cry.
But you wait, somewhere
For those who dare,
(And those who dare not)
Think on the graveyard plot.

When an elderly gentleman named Jack
Said, “let that whip go crack!”,
A young lady called Pearl
Said, “I’m a gentle girl.
Wouldn’t you prefer a little smack!”.
A Young Lady Who Dresses in Pink
A young lady who dresses in pink
Is known for her most peculiar kink.
Her name is Miss Hocking
And she’s really quite shocking,
So I always give her a wink!
When a Young Lady Drinking Strong Booze
When a young lady drinking strong booze
Lost more than her stockings and shoes,
Priggish Miss Coral
Called her immoral.
And I returned those stockings and shoes …
Young Women’s Feet
Young women’s feet
Kick autumn leaves.
Time deceives
Not. clocks
Do stop.
And once green leaves
Must turn to dust.

The poem came to me as I sat in my mum’s kitchen/dining area in Liverpool. The big clock on the wall ticked away the seconds whilst, in the garden I could hear the song of a blackbird.
