There once was a pigeon named Lou
Who spent all her days saying coo.
But a grumpy old cat
Was not fond of that –
So one day Lou ceased to coo!
Last Night
A professional young lady named Miss White
Came round to my place last night.
The bishop was there
With his friend Claire.
And the stars they wink at night.
Fay Who Loved to Play
There once was a young lady named Fay
Who spent all of her day in play.
A most kindly old gnome
Would come round with Joan,
As they loved to play with Miss Fay.
Artificial Flowers
The hypnotic tick tock
Of a concealed clock.
Artificial flowers in a vase.
The truth is writ large.
I do not repent
Of their fleeting scent.
But time ends all rhyme.

There Once Was An Old Man of Peru
There once was an old man of Peru
Who fell into a pot of hot stew.
When they said, “are you cooked?”.
He said “I have long looked
To be cooked in a pot of stew!”.
Henrietta’s Erotic Letter
When a naughty young lady named Henrietta
Sent the bishop an extremely erotic letter
His wife called her loose,
And his daughter turned puce.
And the bishop he treasured that letter …
Some People Just Don’t Appreciate Free Verse
When a young man driving a hearse
Composed a poem all in free verse
A corpse in the back
Gave him such a whack,
That he went and crashed that Hearse!
Blackbird
I see the sun shine
Think on the divine
And the tick tock
Of the ever-present clock.
I hear the blackbird
Who has heard
Not of clock,
And my fleeting word.
Moriah’s Passion
A gorgeous young lady named Miss Morriah
Has a passion for the old squire.
She wears stiletto heels
And swims with seals.
And some say the squire’s a liar!
