A Young Lady Up On a Cloud

A young lady up on a cloud
Said, “sir, you are speaking too loud!”
I said to her, “Flow,
If I speak too low
You won’t hear me on that cloud!”

2 Reviews of My Collection Leaving and Other Poems

I was delighted to receive the following 2 reviews of my recently published collection Leaving and Other Poems.

Perspectivepower:

“Leaving and Other Poems is the latest in a long line of wonderful books of poetry written by Kevin Morris. For those who desire to find humor, logic, passion, and pleasure in poetry, then this is a terrific source of these things and more. Kevin’s observations, interpretations, and imagination will speak to you regardless of your walk of life. You may even find yourself inspired to put pen to paper and write your thoughts out, whether or not you ever share those writings. We can thank our lucky stars that Kevin does indeed share what he writes!”

Victoria Zigler:

“This is another excellent collection of poems by this author, some of which are thought-provoking, while others are amusing. I can easily relate to the poem “I Cut Bread” having been in a similar situation with a dog of my own, and “Autumn’s Dead Leaves” was another poem I really loved from this collection.”

All These Fallen Trees

All these fallen trees
Will fertilize the ground.
Do young couples pass
Along the wooded path
And think thoughts profound
Of nature the creator
And of how trees
And fallen leaves
Fertilize the ground?

There Once Was a Young Lady in Waiting

There once was a young lady in waiting
Who, whilst watching the ducks at their mating
Got into very hot water,
While the vicar’s sweet daughter
Dated young men who she didn’t keep waiting …!

When I Climbed into My Bed Last Night

When I climbed into my bed last night
I found 2 young women named Miss White.
I said to Miss Jane,
“They have the same name!
And please can you turn out the light”.

My Hair is Thinning

My hair is thinning.
I drink and think
On sinning with women.
And, as I drink
I ponder on
Where my hair
Has upped and gone!
