I Find Dust

I find dust

In old books.

While in the summer churchyard

The birds twitter.

They have no bitter

Thoughts of dust.

The graves impassively stand.

I can not command

Death to stay his hand.

Yet some say we may

Achieve immortality.

Where we to achieve immortality

Should I put away Gray’s

“Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard”?

The graveyard plot answers not

For the dead Are at peace.

There Once Was a Lonely Young Guy

There once was a lonely young guy

Who said, “I’ll create a female AI!”.

She was extremely pretty

And so very witty,

And she married a girl called Sky!

Poet Kevin Morris Interviewed on Access Radio

I was delighted to be interviewed by Access radio about my day job, my life as a visually impaired person and my poetry, https://www.mixcloud.com/VictorSchwartzman/access-radio-may-15-2024-kevin-morris/

The podcast runs for approximately 60 minutes, of which around 25-30 minutes concerns a discussion of my poetry and the creative process more generally.

If you do listen, I would be interested in your thoughts.

The Rake or the Devil

When a wicked old rake known as Toft

Said, “your skin looks so pretty and soft!”,

A young lady named Harden

Said, “I beg your pardon,

Was that you or the devil who coughed!”.

My Poetry T Shirt

I have recently created a poetry t shirt, which shows my poem ‘Fallen Blossom’ :

I found
Blossom on the ground.
Which brought
To mind the thought,
We all,
As the blossom, fall.

The t shirt was manufactured by a company called Fluid Branding.

Fallen Blossom can be found in my collection, More Poetic Meanderings which is available in Kindle and Paperback from Amazon.

The Air is Fresh

The air is fresh

After a warm day.

I thrive

In this spring air.

And wonder

Whether those below

Ever walked by

Where they now lie.
