Birds on a Spring Evening

On leaving

The half-empty pub

On a spring

Evening, I heard birdsong.

I love

These chill

Nights , when the trill

Of birds is heard

On the still

Street. Their unconscious art

Calls to my sad

Glad heart.

It was always so.

And I know

Their song will remain

Until I gain

The churchyard path

Where all must pass.

A Review of My Poetry Collection, More Poetic Meanderings

I was pleased to receive the below review of my collection of poetry, More Poetic Meanderings:

“I am a big fan of Kevin’s poems and I was excited to hear he had another poem book out. I couldn’t wait to meander through it. It is different from my usual reads and I think that is why I like them so much. For me they add a sense of peace and calm and helps me to restore my energy. There are so many wonderful poems throughout this book, my favourite being Nature and my favourite room but they are all really good. When I need to relax I will definitely be picking this book up.

Check out Kevin’s other poem books on his website:

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.”

Lin Who Was Very Fond of Fine Gin

I knew an old lady named Lin

Who was fond of very fine gin.

I am pleased to say

That when she passed away

Lin left me some very fine gin …!

A Review of my poetry collection, More Poetic Meanderings

I was pleased to receive the below review of my recently released collection of poetry, More Poetic Meanderings:

“I always find collections of poems by this author to be an interesting and thought-provoking selection of musings, and this collection was no exception. I also always inevitably have my favourites, which in this case were “My Coffee Grows Cold” and “Poetry In Rain” with “My Dog (Still Young)” being another I really enjoyed. I also thought it was fun seeing the versions of some of the poems as continued by Chat GPT.”

There once was a man named Prufrock

Who became known for losing a sock.

He dreamed of a mermaid,

(Who was far from staid).

So I guess she kept his sock!
