I know a young lady named Beth
Who refuses to pause for breath.
On meeting The dreaded Grim Reaper
On the London to Glasgow sleeper,
She bored the poor Reaper to death

In The Chaos Of Our Dreams
In the chaos
Of our dreams
We experience a loss
Of the control
That we, in waking hours maintain
And the oh so fragile pane,
Shatters, revealing our soul.
‘Tis good that none but we
Can see
How our consciousness streams,
Out of control, in dreams.
The Tombstones Look Back At Me
The tombstones look back at me
And will continue to be,
When I can no longer see.
A Young Lady Who Comes From Ealing
A young lady who comes from Ealing
Is fond of trampolining.
At dead of night
I received a fright,
When she jumped right through my ceiling!
As I Strolled Home Late Last Night
As I strolled home late last night
A young lady under a red light
Said, whilst smiling provocatively at me,
“Are you looking for some company?”,
And the stars they shone very bright!
When A Young Lady Dressed As A Smarty
When a young lady dressed as a smarty
Said, “I’ve come about the party”,
And I replied, “Conservative or Labour?”,
She said, “I am your neighbour,
And I’m inviting you to our swingers party!”.
I Recently Went To A Party
I recently went to a party
Attended by the great literati,
Where a poetess named Bess
Took off her new dress,
Don’t worry, it was really quite arty
50
50. Soon to be 51.
The year
Is here
And soon gone.
I cough in the early morning.
A warning?
Probably not,
But soon the year will be gone
And I shall reach the age of 51,
How many more have I got?
Young women
Will still
Laugh at my humour,
But grinning
Is not sinning
And ’tis no rumour
That I grow old.
Gold
May, they say
Buy
Much more than a smile
From a pretty maid
But the eye
Of lust
Must turn to dust
Once our part is played.
Free book promotion!
My book ‘Streetwalker and other stories’ will be free in the Amazon Kindle Store, from the 11th – 15th October.
In this collection of flash fiction we meet a variety of characters, many of whom have been deeply damaged by life. The stories range from a young prostitute who walks the dangerous streets of London to tales of vengeance and comeuppance. Serious issues of abuse of power are touched upon. Anyone who is looking for a comfortable read should avoid this book.
‘Streetwalker and other stories’ is available here for the UK and here for the US.
Blast from the past!
Back in 2015 I released ‘Dalliance; a collection of poetry and prose’ in Kindle and Paperback format. Whilst the Kindle version is still available, the Paperback version (pictured below) is out of print. The Paperback was published by an independent publisher, who have since gone out of business, hence the print book is perhaps, something of a collectors item!
As those of you who follow this blog will know, my ‘Selected Poems’ and ‘The Writer’s Pen’ are available in Kindle and Paperback format. I hope, in the not too distant future, to reissue ‘Dalliance’ in Paperback.
Dalliance is available here for the UK and here for the US.
Dalliance
‘In this world, where nothing really exists, I kiss your cold, dead lips. Meaningless dalliance in this land of the dead, no words spoken: there is nothing to be said. Emotions stifled, frozen in ice, held in deaths stone grip.’
