There was a young lady named Juliette
Who got a job as a vet.
A crocodile called Nile
Gave her a smile
As he ate that vet named Juliette.

I knelt and smelt
Hyacinths in the hospital garden.
Their scent
Was delicate and sweet.
.
The next time I went
To that self-same garden
Their scent
Had already been spent.
.
I grow much stronger,
Yet ponder
On a hospital garden
And scent
So soon spent.

I know a young lady in heels
Who loves to swim with the seals.
Her name it is Rose
And she wears no clothes –
But she does keep on her heels!

Just a single, solitary, call,
From a bird heard in the hospital garden
As the twilight
Was swallowed by night.

A beautiful young lady named Maddy
Is seeking a rich Sugar Daddy.
But I, being poor
Am dating Miss Moore,
Who is less attractive than Maddy!

We go on in the same old way,
Until, one day,
We brush against the Reaper, who will say,
“Man’s day is brief
And must end in grief”.
Then he may smile
And pass by for a while.
But he will return one day
For we are clay.
.
Or we simply fall asleep
And fail to wake.
Sometimes friends and family weep.
But the Reaper takes
And never returns.
Therefore we should learn
To spend our days
In joyful play
For we know not
When or what.

My room in Walton Neuro Centre overlooks this garden, which contains a tree/fountain memorialising those who have donated their organs that others might live. Also in the garden stands a bench which has a Shakespeare quote on it.
Remberence tree silver leaves have names of people who have donated organs

In my dreams, it sometimes seems
That the owl calls to me.
I can not see
Where he may be.
Yet his voice is clear
And I hear him near
Calling to me.
.
He speaks to me
Of my mortality
Reminding me of Macbeth
And approaching death,
And yet he
Does not bother me,
For we all
Must, one day, fall.

When I had the operation
There was no fear,
Just the knowledge of death, hovering near.
.
There was no particular anticipation
That I might die,
Merely the desire to get it done
Once and for all.
.
I did not fall
And the Reaper saluted me.
But I thought I heard him say,
“I will be back, one day

UPDATE: I spoke to the consultant this morning and he said that I might not require an additional aspiration, as the growth in my head was diminishing due to the antibiotics. Kevin.
A brief explanation of my absence and subsequent reappearance due to the kindness of Chris Graham (AKA) the Story Reading Ape.
During the last week of January, I became vague whilst shopping in Sainsburys supermarket. The member of staff who was helping me at the time was concerned, however, the vagueness passed and I continued to a restaurant where I met my friend Jeff.
During Wednesday evening (the last Wednesday in January), I became unwell and collapsed at home. I subsequently recovered and thought no more about it, that is until the first Sunday in February when I again collapsed whilst walking Appollo with a friend in South Norwood Lake park. An ambulance was called and I was taken to Mayday University hospital in Croydon, where I suffered a further seizure.
Having spent the night in Mayday, I was sent home with medication for epelesy. This did, I thought at the time seem to do the trick as I suffered no further seizures. My mum and her friend spent a few days with me then returned to Liverpool.
Having rested for a couple of days, I decided to go to visit my family in Liverpool. Soon after having arrived, I was once more subject to confusion and developed a weak right side.
To cut a long story short, I was admitted to Walton Neuro Unit where I underwent an emergency operation. I am pleased to report that I am no longer subject to confusion, and I have largely regained the movement in the right side of my body. I am so grateful to all of the staff in Walton Neuro Unit for their excellent care and compassion.
I am still undergoing tests in order to determine what, exactly happened. Basically, as a child, I developed a blood clot on the brain which the doctors believe allowed 2 bugs to enter my system. (They are looking to seal the hole which was left since I was 18-months-old)!
Chris Graham is now posting for me as I’m unable to access the dashboard on my blog due to some issue with the NHS’S WiFi, which is blocking my access.
I am extremely grateful to Chris for his kindness in posting on my behalf.
