When a young lady riding a bike
Said, “I have something you will like”.
I said, “in my sports car
You and I can go far,
But not so far on that bike”.

The Breeze
I hear the breeze
In these
Familiar trees
And wish to stay here,
Amidst these leaves.
For, when I leave these trees
The wind’s blast
Is surpassed
By the drear
Noise of vehicles, passing near.
When a Young Lady Standing on a Ledge
When a young lady standing on a ledge
Said, “sir, would you like some veg?”,
An elderly gentleman by the name of Bean
Said something which was really quite obscene,
So I threw him in a hedge!
Their Time in the Sun
They have fun
In the sun.
Their perfect
Bodies reject
The fact that they
Will grow old.
Where I to be bold
And say,
“All this will pass
Away”,
Lad and lass would laugh.
Though, perhaps a thoughtful few
Would say
“That’s true.
But we must
Enjoy our day
Ere we are dust”.
And I would nod,
And go away.
A Young Lady Living in a Box
A young lady living in a box
One day lost all of her socks.
She had to search high and low,
Which is strange, as I happen to know,
That she lives in a very small box!
The Sphinx
The enigmatic sphinx, winks
As I
Pass by.
And seems to say
“‘Tis a beautiful day
And, of course
A nod is as good as a wink
To a blind horse.
But my good sir,
You should take extreme care,
For you think
I wink,
But the sun’s glare …”.

The above poem was prompted by the mention of the Sphinx in this wonderful poem by Gabriela, https://shortprose.blog/2020/05/09/the-violin-of-love-poem-poetry-prose-poem/
Mable Who Was Willing And Able
When a young lady named Mable
Said, “I am willing and able”,
I said, “come here my dear
And meet beautiful, young miss Ria.
Together you can assemble this table!”.
Outcall
In a strange bed, she lies.
Her sighs
Real as the cries
On a fairground ride.
She
Can not decide
What to have for tea.
His eyes close
In the moment of release,
A brief surcease
From grief.
And she
Puts on her clothes,
And goes
Home for tea.
One day
She may
Look into a guy’s eyes
And find
Nothing behind.
My Lover
My lover who is petite and blonde
Has a very deep garden pond.
When she found me with Yvette,
(who is a gorgeous, slim brunnette,
I became acquainted with her pond!
Cleaners Find
Cleaners find
Traces left behind.
Their bachelor boss so staid
With a pretty maid,
They see in their mind’s eye
As fresh sheets are laid
On the stolid old bed.
When cleaners dust
And discover a girl’s misplaced jewel
Perchance they may
Ponder on lust
And think their master a fool.
But, being paid to clean
They leave the ring,
Or some such thing
As though unseen,
In the same place.
While their imagination runs wild …
