When a young lady climbing the stairs
Said, “please make these socks into pairs”.
I went to the shops
And swapped all those socks
For a box of big juicy pears!

She kept
Her socks on.
As you would expect,
No one wept.
Then she was gone.

She keeps her socks on.
And, when she is gone,
I wonder, does she keep
Them on
In sleep?
