I hear the wind blow.
Later, I will go
To the pub, and laugh
With friends, over a glass.
Yet I hide inside
My smile, the wind’s gust
For all this must pass.

Autumn Day
On a grey
Autumn day,
I engage
With age.
A Reminder: Poet Kevin Morris Interviewed by Ariadne Sawyer of The World Poetry Reading Series At 9 PM (UK Time) This Evening (Thursday 24 September)
A reminder, for anyone who is interested, that my interview with Ariadne Sawyer of Vancouver Co-Op Radio’s The World Poetry Reading Series will be broadcast this evening, https://kmorrispoet.com/2020/09/18/poet-kevin-morris-interviewed-by-ariadne-sawyer-of-vancouver-co-op-radios-the-world-poetry-reading-series-on-thursday-24th-september-2020/.
The show starts at 9 pm (UK time), whilst my bit can be found approximately 10-15 minutes into the broadcast.
During the broadcast I talk about my poetry and read several of my poems, including “Dog Bed”, which was composed in response to the death of my dog Trigger earlier this month, (https://kmorrispoet.com/2020/09/05/dog-bed-revised-poem/).
The Autumn Rain
The autumn rain
Comes back again.
But those in the ground
Know not it’s fall
Nor anything at all profound.
To My Dog Trigger, Who Lay On My Book
I Met A Gazelle
I met a gazelle.
She moved with speed.
Best not dwell
On my need.
Like Prufrock, I grow old.
No point to dwell
On a passing gazelle.
Though, I am sometimes bold
The Forbidden Garden
A forbidden
Garden, hidden
Behind a wall.
Yet, there are kinks
And chinks
To explore
In many a wall,
For
He who would climb
To reach the divine.
And a wall
May fall.
Revealing the garden, once forbidden
For which he has striven.
But, having reached the divine
And tasted her sweet wine,
How many men,
Having satiated their desire,
Retire,
And plan their next climb?

Foe
Some I have seen,
Are vanished, from the scene.
No doubt
Some are married now.
Few will shout
About the dance
Of foe-romance
We tripped together.
I wonder how,
Or even whether
A nameless she
Remembers me.
Departed
I consider myself sane.
So must
Not call your name.
For you are beyond dusk,
And sun.
And rain.
But, where I to say,
In my old, familiar way,
“Trigger”. Would you come
In a run
To your name,
Through the sun, and rain?
