Mabel’s Stable

When a young lady named Mabel
Invited me into her father’s dark stable
We discussed her horse
And the race course –
As her father was in the stable!

When a Young Lady in a Doze

When a young lady in a doze
Said, “I’ll punch you on your nose!”.
I shook my grey head
And climbed out of bed.
And that girl still has my toes!

You Gave To Me

You gave to me
A part
Of thee.
But the tick tock
Of the inexorable clock
Told me your heart
Was not
With me.

No memento
Have I of thee
Though perhaps a part
Lives on in art.
But the inexorable clock
May measure
More time together.
I know not.

My Midnight Stroll

Whilst walking through the churchyard at midnight
I received a bit of a fright
When mischievous Miss Spink
Gave me a wink,
And the vicar wished me good night …

Miss Khan’s Barn

I know a young lady named Miss Khan
Who lives in a charming old hay barn.
I like to play
In the sweet hay.
As I love Miss Khan’s charming old barn …

Immature Men

When a young lady named Moore
Said, “you men are so immature!”.
I stood on my head
On a furniture shop bed,
As the customers all shouted “encore!”.

Whilst Dining With the Beautiful Miss Fay

Whilst dining with the beautiful Miss Fay
She said, “you are old and grey”.
But after much wine
She found me divine,
And her thoughts they turned to play!
