When a young lady named Miss Nell
Said, “many men have fell
In the hotel of pleasure.
Sir, I was wondering whether …?”
I replied, “Nell, you know me well!”.

A Young Lady Whose Name Is Lou
A young lady whose name is Lou
Is so extremely fond of strong glue
That she eats it each day,
And I’m very sorry to say,
That she’s really stuck up is Lou!
When A Man Whose Name Was Lee
When a man whose name was Lee
Said, “this tree shall long outlast me”,
The tree, being sound asleep
Did not sigh or weep,
Which was just as it should be!
Someone Has Swept
Someone has swept
The leaves to the side
Of the path.
Autumn has crept
Up on me, And I
Can not decide
Whether I ought
To laugh
Or sigh,
For I
Can compose a rhyme
To tyme,
But he
Can not be bought
By me.
There Once Was A PM Called Boris
There once was a PM called Boris
Who, whilst reading The Odes of Horace,
Spied the Downing Street Cat
With a rather large rat,
Which rather put the PM off Horace!
There Once Was An Extremely Controversial Pamphlateer
There once was an extremely controversial pamphleteer
Who went by the name of Lear.
He resembled a moose,
Crossed with a goose,
In looks he was really quite queer!
A Young Lady Whose Name Is Heart
A young lady whose name is Heart
Is a producer of extremely fine art.
I have oft seen her etching,
Although I’m more into my sketching,
But I’m very fond of Miss Heart!
Autumn
The scent of autumn is soon gone.
I shall live on
For a time
And take joy in rhyme
And the leaves
That please
Me
As they fall from a myriad
Tree.
I am glad
To forget my care
In this autumn air.
And shall learn to be
At one with leaf and tree.
A Young Lady Whose Name is Claire
A young lady whose name is Claire
Likes older men who have grey hair,
But on seeing mine,
She refused to dine,
She’s a fickle young lady is Claire!
