Lust
Makes the strong
Weak with desire,
But passion’s song
Must
End in dust.

In this old, familiar wood
In this old, familiar wood
I take my hood
Down, just
In time for the rain.
I shall not put it up again.
Thoughts of lust,
Of lost love,
And friendship I shall retain,
For a while. But this wood
And the rain,
Shall remain.
Rooms at Different Times Produce Diverse Rhymes
Rooms at different times
Produce
Diverse rhymes.
A girl’s perfume
In a darkened room
May seduce
A man into penning a rhyme
About lust.
Do not condemn
Such men
For there will be time
Enough for dust.
Roses I May Not Pick, Tempt
Roses I may not pick, tempt
With their sweet
Scent.
The peach,
Out of reach
I may not eat
For mine
Wine
Has passed its best.
But, in time
All things must rest.
The hour
Of the flower
And peach, is brief,
And all must, one day cease
As the weather grows hot
As the weather grows
Hot, pretty women in short clothes
Will cause
Men to pause
And their eyes to almost pop
Out of their heads, and wish
That they could catch
That particular fish,
For they have an itch
To scratch.
And perhaps a match
May spark
Ingendering love or lust
In the human heart,
Ere the dust
Takes away
Our sunny day.
Ought
Ought
I to fall
For a tall
Or a short
Girl?
One may be gone
In a whirl
Of love or lust
It matters not, for we are dust
And must
Ourselves besport
Ere we are caught
By one who will
Forever chill
Both love and lust.
The Kiss Without Love
The kiss without love.
The glove
Full
Of a dull
Release
Will bring no peace
My Shirt Blows
My shirt blows
In the morning air.
My thought goes
To where
Girls with long tresses
In summer dresses
Display
The bare.
Lad and lass
Will pass
Away,
But I have all this today.
I Long
I long
For the busty blonde,
And yearn for the slim brunette.
What point in regret?
When both black and white
Provide such sweet delight
And the night is short
And those who do as they ought
Find that time’s chariot can not be caught?
Inchoate
Inchoate desire.
A fire
Fanned by a girl’s sweet scent.
No need to repent
As yet.
Come tomorrow
There will be sorrow
And regret.
