Below are three humourous poems, and a couple of photographs taken by my friend Shanelle of my guide dog Trigger following a walk in the park.

Trigger smiling at the camera

Trigger beaming after his walk in the park

A very happy dog!
I have uploaded the following four poems to my Soundcloud.

I am again honored and humbled to announce that my poem, She Sits By The Window, was published this morning on Vita Brevis Poetry Magazine! My thanks and gratitude once again to Brian Geiger, Editor of Vita Brevis, for finding my work worthy of inclusion.
Via She Sits By The Window – Poetry By Walt Page
She sits by the window
Hour after hour
Waiting and watching
Her loneliness chills her
And she shivers
But she still sits
Hoping and praying
It’s 1965
He was drafted
Sent to a far off jungle
To fight for the red, white and blue
Two sad faced soldiers
Had come yesterday
But she knows
They must have been wrong
So she sits by the window
Waiting and watching
Hoping and praying

This rhyme
Is out of time
And I have not the will
To set it right
Tonight.
I am no sage
Yet dream of a golden age
Where clocks kept slow time
And to rhyme
Was thought the proper thing to do.
Perhaps this view
Is at least half true.
The click clack of stilettos.
Girls from ghettos
Feet are lost
In carpets they could never afford,
While a discreet board
Shows the cost
Of most things.
The lift bell pings.
What goes up must go down.
The receptionist, eyes lost in her book
Gives a slight frown.
Why bother to look?
For of course
A nod is as good as a wink
To a blind horse.
I have uploaded six new poems to Soundcloud, all of which can be found below:
I was delighted to receive this review of “The Writer’s Pen and Other Poems” (audio edition). For the audio edition, which is available from Audible, please visit, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KPN8LT3/. The foregoing link will take you to the audio edition on Amazon. You can also find it by going to audible.co.uk or audible.com and searching for “the writer’s pen and other poems”. Unfortunately the direct link I had to the book on the Audible site returns an error, however searching does bring up my book (
Since April is National Poetry Month, I hope you’ll take some time to read a good poem or two. This month, I’ll be reviewing some poetry collections I’ve enjoyed.

This short collection contains poems mostly about human nature. When I downloaded the Audible version, I was surprised to discover that Alex Lee, the narrator, is a woman. She does an excellent job. Her reading of one poem about a clock and a refrigerator includes sound effects. Some poems remind me of Robert Frost and other such poets. I recommend this book as a delightful twenty-five minutes of poetry reading.

Men their hearts lose
To girls in unsuitable shoes.
Fire will always burn.
No lessons are learned
While the world, unconcerned
On it’s axis continues to turn.

I owe a debt to Kiplings’s “The Gods of The Copybook Headings” for line 3 of the poem:
“As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!”.

As a poet, I am constantly looking for new and inovative ways to promote my work. To date I have distributed business cards, given poetry readings, been featured on Vancouver Co-Op Radio’s The World Poetry Reading Series and, of course posted here on kmorrispoet.com.
It struck me recently that what is lacking is the creation of a great sensation as a means of bringing my work to the attention of a wider audience. Consequently I have determined, on 1 April, to parade around the city of London dressed in a yellow polka dot bikini. The dots will, of course spell out an as yet unpublished poem. I feel sure that as I stroll around Trafalgar Square, London’s Oxford Street and other such hives of activity, that both I and my poems will attract great attention. My hope is that not only will tourists take photographs but that I will, with luck make the national news, perhaps even elbowing Brexit to the margins of media coverage!
I can not, however claim that this idea is entirely my own. In fact it came to me when viewing this video on Youtube. However I, unlike the young lady featured below, will not be shy as I parade around the great metropolis of London!
