Several weeks ago, I offered my readers the chance to win 2 free downloads of my collection of poems, “The Writer’s Pen and Other Poems” on audible.co.uk. I am now offering you the chance to win 2 free downloads of “The Writer’s Pen” on audible.com. You can find “The Writer’s Pen” here, https://www.audible.com/pd/B07KPN5FCH.

The rules:

1. Anyone who has an account on audible.com (or who is able to use audible.com) can enter.
2. The winners will receive a code enabling him/her to download a free copy of my book from audible.com. Please note, the code will only work on audible.com.
3. In order to enter the competition, please email the answer to the question posed at the end of this post to me at newauthoronline (at) gmail dot com. (The address is rendered thus to defeat spammers). Please put “Competition to win an audio download of The Writer’s Pen in the subject line of your email.
4. The competition will close at 6 pm on Saturday 22 December (UK time).

To celebrate the release of the audio edition of “The Writer’s Pen and Other Poems”, on 29 November, (www.audible.co.uk/pd/The-Writers-Pen-and-Other-Poems-Audiobook/B07KPPQ2K2), I am offering 2 free copies of the audio edition to readers who are based in the United Kingdom. I hope to run a similar offer for readers elsewhere in the near future.

On 7 December, I announced a competition to win 2 free copies of the audio version of my collection of poetry, “My Old Clock I Wind”.

The competition remains open to audible.com users and I am pleased to announce that a further 2 (free) audio downloads are now available to audible.co.uk listeners, https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/Arts-Entertainment/My-Old-Clock-I-Wind-and-Other-Poems-Audiobook/B077VYT3X6.

To enter the competition, please send an email to newauthoronline (at) gmail dot com. Please put “competition to win an audio download” in the subject line.

The first 2 people to email me will receive a promotional code enabling them to download “My Old Clock I Wind” FREE.

Please note, audible.co.uk codes only work on the UK site and audible.com codes only work on the US website. However listners not based in either the UK or USA may still use a promotional code (provided that the code is used on the site for which it was issued). So, for example a person resident in Australia can not use a promotional code for audible.co.uk or audible.com on the Australian site (audible.com/au). They may, however go to either audible.co.uk or audible.com and use the code (making sure that their browser does not redirect them to the Australian Audible site). This may entail opening a new account on either audible.co.uk or audible.com.

A relative resident in Australia was able to download “My Old Clock” by going to audible.com (despite the attempts of his browser to redirect him to audible.com/au)!

In order to be in with a chance of winning, please answer the following question, which novel begins as follows ”1801—-I have just returned from a visit to my landlord—the solitary neighbour that I shall be troubled with”.

In “The First Time”, the first story in this collection, we meet Becky a young graduate who enters the world of prostitution in order to clear her debts.

The story looks at the effects of prostitution on Becky and her fellow escort and friend Julie. In “The Pain Behind the Smile” Issie presents her friend,

Peter with a birthday cake, however things are not what they seem.

In “Lucy” the acquaintances of a crusty old bachelor speculate how he could attract and retain the affections of a beautiful young woman. As with “The

Pain Behind the Smile” things are far from what they seem.

“Hemlock” explores what happens when machines attain the capacity to appreciate high culture. The story is both humorous and deeply serious.
