A weak sun.
Day is almost done.
We have had our fun.
Soon the dark will come.
A weak sun.
Day is almost done.
We have had our fun.
Soon the dark will come.
Don’t look into another’s mind
For you may find
A fiend
Who stalks your dream.
You may discern a hole
Where the soul
Should be.
Perhaps it is better you can not see.
Do you possess the art
To look into your own heart?
To confront the demons who scheme
And haunt your dream?
The countenance pleasant may seem
But what goes on behind the screen?
Her leather jacket.
Can she hack it?
Pack it
in
that leads to sin.
A riding crop.
Will he stop?
The horse
May run his course.
Force of circumstance
Or chance
Sees matters advance.
Her mount strides
but who rides
whom
as they canter through the gloom?

Kevin
Waiters at tables,
hear fabulous fables.
Wine turns to water,
shehe is his daughter?
They don’t look alike,
perhaps it’s the light?
They prefer it so,
the lamp turned low.
Hey ho,
Couples come and go,
Discussing Aesop’s fables,
With those who wait at tables.
Early this year a group of authors, including myself, came together to produce “More Than Best Friends”, an anthology in aid of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association (GDBA). All funds go directly to GDBA with no monies being received by the authors.
I was delighted when Olivia Emily of Bibliomad kindly agreed to write an honest review of “More Than Best Friends” in exchange for a free copy of the book. For Olivia’s review please visit the following link, https://bibliomad.wordpress.com/2015/09/28/more-than-best-friends-book-review/#more-428.
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association are a registered charity who receive no government funding. If you would like to support the work of the Association in providing guide dogs, thereby enhancing the independence of visually impaired guide dog owners, please do consider downloading the anthology and making a donation to GDBA. I would like to thank my fellow authors for their generosity in donating their work and time free.
(Please note. I have been visually impaired since approximately 18-months old as a consequence of a blood clot on the brain which caused me to lose the majority of my vision. I am now working with my fourth guide dog, a brindle lab/retriever called Trigger, of whom I am very fond despite his habit of helping himself to other people’s lunches, particularly my work colleagues)!
Her feet beat
To the music of the street.
Perfume sweet,
Makes him weak.
He would die,
For one look from those azure eyes.
Oh for a taste of those ruby red lips,
His heart skips,
As her fingers she slips,
Into his hand.
Breathlessly he waits for her command,
“I needs some grub.
Lets go to pub.
Bloke pays”.
She says,
Employing her feminine ways!

The path taken less often than I should,
This tranquil place through a nearby wood.
A spot with trees for walls
Where sunlight through the branches falls.
An oasis from the urban din
I find a quiet place within.
An inner space where the heart can be still,
A peaceful spot on this wooded hill.
—
The path to the road ascends.
A cloud of gloom on me descends.
I must return to this rented land
Where advertising hordings stand.
A world where empty vessels make most noise,
And people play with broken toys.
