There once was a slug from Slough
Who said, “I really don’t know how
This lettuce tastes so good!
I wish that I could
Spend my days eating lettuce in Slough!”

I’ve been to Slough but didn’t see a slug there! Very entertaining, Kevin.
I haven’t actually visited Slough. However, I passed through it on the train, which is what prompted me to compose this poem. I’m glad you like it Esther, and thank you for commenting.
Perfect, Kevin! As i never heard about Slough i am sure i wouldn’t find a slug there. 😉 xx Michael
I’m glad you like my poem Michael. The poet John betjeman helped to make Slough famous with these lines: “come friendly bombs and fall on Slough”. He wasn’t a fan of the place! I’m sure that, in reality Slough is a lovely place for all it’s residents, whether they are slugs or people!
