My Poetry Reading on the World Poetry Cafe

On Thursday 23rd October, I appeared on the World Poetry Café. During the show, I read several of my own poems, including “On the Death of a Writer”, which appears in my most recent collection, “Passing Through; Some Thoughts on Life and Death”. In addition, I read Philip Larkin’s wonderful poem “Ambulances”.

My thanks to Ariadne, Anita and Victor for hosting me on the World Poetry Café. My segment begins approximately 21 minutes into the podcast. Kevin Morris Poet’s New Show on World Poetry Cafe

I am pleased to let you know that my new show on the World Poetry Café is now live and can be found here https://www.mixcloud.com/VictorSchwartzman/world-poetry-cafe-july-24-2025-kevin-morris/

As many of you will be aware, I am a regular guest on the World Poetry Café. However, I now have a dedicated monthly show, during which I read and discuss not only my own work but that of others. In this podcast, I read A. E. Housman’s wonderful poem, “On Wenlock Edge” and talked about the life of the poet. In addition, I also answered questions from the hosts regarding my view as to how people can best start their unique journey into poetry.

My segment appears approximately 15 minutes into the podcast, which also includes me reading several of my own poems.

I am pleased to let you know that my poem “I am Tired” has been included in the latest episode of Dodo Modern Poets. To listen to “I am Tired” and the other poet’s work, please visit https://dodomodernvidpoets2022.blogspot.com/.

I listened using Google Chrome. (For some reason none of the poems would play for me using  Microsoft’s Edge browser. If you do get Edge to work for you, please do let me know)!

Invitation to join poet Kevin Morris for an online poetry reading, at 8 pm (UK time) on Wednesday 9 April

For a while now, I have been mulling over the idea of doing a poetry reading. My original intention was that this would be an event held somewhere in Crystal Palace, with people physically in attendance. However, due to COVID19 (the Corona Virus), this is, sadly not possible. Hence I have decided to host a virtual event, details of which can be found below.

It remains my intention to hold a live event (with guests physically present) when COVID19 is resolved/the UK lock-down is over. In the meantime, I hope that you will be able to participate in the online event to be held at 8 pm, on Wednesday 9 April:
