Are we an immoral nation?
I guess a nation is like an individual. A mixture of good and bad, that is unless one goes with Hamlet’s view of humanity, “we are arrant knaves all. Believe none of us!”. We do, as a nation, have things of which we can be proud and those of which we should not be proud of. I am proud of being British and my poem was written, as I’m sure you recognised, with my tongue in my cheek.
Yes, what you say is true, but in spite of our misdemeanours as a nation, we are still better than many.
