There was a young lady called May
Who invited me to the ballet.
But being a man of discretion
I shall make no confession
Unless the tabloids they offer to pay …

Who introduced me to her housemate Fay.
Back at their flat
I took off my hat
But they didn’t ask me to stay!
There was a young lady called May
Who performed in a very strange play.
Having neither beginning nor end
Her friends all contend
That it really wasn’t a play!
There was a young lady called May
Who walked in the fields one day.
She met the queen of the fairies there,
Who said, “beware,
For here you may not stay!”
There was a young lady called May
Who spent all her time in play.
Her boss said,
As he shook his head,
“In this job you can not stay”!
There was a young lady called May
Who went to roll in the hay.
A naughty gnome
Said, “you should be at home”.
She replied, “come hither and play”!
