‘Tis The Quiet Time

‘Tis the quiet time
Before the sun
Does come.
I shall rhyme
Ere the day is done
And I become,
As one with the setting sun

I don’t often regret being blind. However sitting in a pub garden yesterday evening, as my friend Brian described the sun setting I felt a twinge of regret at my inability to watch the sun’s firey ball sink below the horizon.

Would that I could touch a sunset

Be wrapped in it’s fiery glow.

Would that I could see the sun set,

A sight I will never know.
