When I met the poet Milton

In the supermarket shopping for Stilton,

And I spoke of “Paradise Lost”,

He said, “have you seen the cost

Of all these cheeses, especially this Stilton!”

    I bet he was shocked at the price of cheese. It’s gone up quite a lot since his day.
    I studied Milton at college, specifically Paradise Lost. Next time you see him, tell him I thought it was a good poem. 😄

      Indeed cheese has gone up a lot since Milton’s day. He was also rather puzzled about debit and credit cards!

      I did book 9 of Paradise Lost at a-level, but have not read the book in it’s entirety. I’ll certainly tell Milton you enjoyed his poem when I next see him!
