Who, while gazing into the abyss,
Has not seen
The devil grin,
And been
Tempted by the bliss
Of an undiscovered sin?

How Thin
Oh how thin
Is the divide betwixt virtue and sin.
A rake’s grin
Or a smile
That beguiles
Girls who flirt
In skirts
Short.
Ought?
Ought not?
Passion hot.
Cool reflection
May lead to dejection.
There is no rejection
When the coin does spin
And what some call sin
Enters in.
Raining
I awoke to the rain
drumming on my window pane.
Opening my lattice I let it in
the purifying water that washes away sin.
The hypnotic sound
of rain falling all around.
All my life I have listened to the rain.
The same drumming
of water coming
from the sky
falling on you and I.
The rain has no end
But you and I my friend
May listen for a while
Smile
then pass on by.
Riding
Her leather jacket.
Can she hack it?
Pack it
in
that leads to sin.
A riding crop.
Will he stop?
The horse
May run his course.
Force of circumstance
Or chance
Sees matters advance.
Her mount strides
but who rides
whom
as they canter through the gloom?
