Yesterday morning as I stood patiently in line waiting to enter the underground at London’s Victoria station, surrounded by the hussle and bussle of rush hour, I longed to be anywhere other than the capital of this United Kingdom. Well the tumult and the shouting can be put aside for a while as I’m off to Liverpool this evening to spend time with my mum, her partner and my sister, not forgetting Lilley my mum’s black Labrador. I do hope that my guide dog, Trigger doesn’t cause chaos by chasing Lilley around the house but that is, alas I fear to much to wish for!
I will be returning to London on 9 August and it is unlikely that I’ll blog while I’m away. See you all on or around 9 August.

On 15 June I published my collection of short stories, Sting In The Tail And Other Stories, on Amazon (see http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sting-tail-other-stories-ebook/dp/B00DFK6R54). I thought it would be interesting for me (possibly painful for my listeners) where I to make a recording of a chapter from Sting In The Tail and place it on this blog. With the help of a sighted friend I may even record a video. I’m planning to make the recording in the next week or so, you have been warned …!
Working full time has it’s advantages not least among them being the ability to meet those piffling little obligations known as bills together with other living expenses! The downside to being in full time employment is that I am usually fairly tired by the time I return home in the evening and my ability to write is, as a consequence diminished.
I want to spend time on long term writing projects which will entail me devoting less to blogging. My intention, at the moment is to cut down on my blogging to approximately 2-3 posts a week affording more time for long term composition. Some weeks I may blog more and others less. Rest assured that I won’t be disappearing so don’t break open the champagne just yet or, if you do, invite me along for a drink!

I shall be taking a break from blogging for a week or so while my mum and her partner visit my sprawling estate in the country. Err I mean my flat in Crystal Palace (the estate was wishful thinking)!
