Operation

When I had the operation

There was no fear,

Just the knowledge of death, hovering near.

.

There was no particular anticipation

That I might die,

Merely the desire to get it done

Once and for all.

.

I did not fall

And the Reaper saluted me.

But I thought I heard him say,

“I will be back, one day

.

UPDATE: I spoke to the consultant this morning and he said that I might not require an additional aspiration, as the growth in my head was diminishing due to the antibiotics. Kevin.

An Explanation From Kevin Morris…

A brief explanation of my absence and subsequent reappearance due to the kindness of Chris Graham (AKA) the Story Reading Ape.

During the last week of January, I became vague whilst shopping in Sainsburys supermarket. The member of staff who was helping me at the time was concerned, however, the vagueness passed and I continued to a restaurant where I met my friend Jeff.

During Wednesday evening (the last Wednesday in January), I became unwell and collapsed at home. I subsequently recovered and thought no more about it, that is until the first Sunday in February when I again collapsed whilst walking Appollo with a friend in South Norwood Lake park. An ambulance was called and I was taken to Mayday University hospital in Croydon, where I suffered a further seizure.

Having spent the night in Mayday, I was sent home with medication for epelesy. This did, I thought at the time seem to do the trick as I suffered no further seizures. My mum and her friend spent a few days with me then returned to Liverpool.

Having rested for a couple of days, I decided to go to visit my family in Liverpool. Soon after having arrived, I was once more subject to confusion and developed a weak right side.

To cut a long story short, I was admitted to Walton Neuro Unit where I underwent an emergency operation. I am pleased to report that I am no longer subject to confusion, and I have largely regained the movement in the right side of my body. I am so grateful to all of the staff in Walton Neuro Unit for their excellent care and compassion.

I am still undergoing tests in order to determine what, exactly happened. Basically, as a child, I developed a blood clot on the brain which the doctors believe allowed 2 bugs to enter my system. (They are looking to seal the hole which was left since I was 18-months-old)!

Chris Graham is now posting for me as I’m unable to access the dashboard on my blog due to some issue with the NHS’S WiFi, which is blocking my access.

I am extremely grateful to Chris for his kindness in posting on my behalf.

There is a Garden.

There is a garden

With artificial leaves

Where people memorialise the dead.

.

It has been said

That these leaves

Represent those long dead

.

There is a wall

Showing all must fall

Yet there is hope

For one must grope for hope

Even in the cold ground.

My name it is Alice!

There was a young lady of Crystal Palace

Who went by the name of Alice.

They said to her Claire,

“You should take great care!”,

She said, “my name it is Alice!”

Lost Time

The wind is eternal.

It blows and my thought goes

Scuttering like dead leaves.

I heard the clock’s tick tock.

Should I grieve

For lost time?

There is no time

Only my temporary body clock

Which will, one day, stop.

My Head is Dead

My head is dead.

After a flash of electricity in my brain

Am I the same?

My head feels dead.

I understand  the words said, and can’t explain

Why it feels dead.

My head may not be dead.

I can interpret and explain.

Perhaps my memory is the same,

But my head feels dead.
