In her rush
A young woman’s heels
Cruelly crush leaves.
The ageing poet sees
Autumn has come.
He feels girl’s heels
Carelessly kick away
The once green leaves
Of his May.

Sad, Kevin.
Perhaps it is sad, Vivienne. But poets should try to engage with the truth I believe, and my poem expresses the truth as I see it, (or at least as I perceived it when I composed the poem). I always appreciate your comments. Best wishes. Kevin
Yes, I agree. Telling the truth is part of what a poet should always do.
