Ordinary

A middle-aged lady offers him tea,

Then  returns to her women’s magazine.

He shuffles on an old settee,

Drinks tea, and thinks “how ordinary

Is this scene”.

A darkened room.

Some cheap perfume.

20 minutes or so.

Then he must go.

In the other room,

She reads her magazine.
