Society rides
The tides
Of collectivism
And individualism.
Whilst in Highgate
Spencer and Marx
Continue their decay.
(Note: Karl Marx’s grave in Highgate Cemetery is almost directly opposite to that of the champion of liberal individualism, Herbert Spencer. See https://highgatecemetery.org/visit/cemetery/east#featurephoto71).
Thought provoking, and an interesting juxtaposition. I’m glad you put them that way round!
I’m pleased you like my poem, Vivienne. I deliberately chose to put Spencer before Marx for reasons which I’m sure you will guess! Have a good Sunday. Kevin

Very thought provoking, Kevin! Karl Marx is burried in British soil? Wow! Sadly, The Internationale in English neither has a rhyme in the choirus, nor in the lyrics itself. It could be that this had not prevailed. 😉 xx Michael
