Tempted by hyacinth
Who did bring
Thoughts of spring.
Should winter repent
Of sweet hyacinth
Who’s subtle scent
Does so tempt.
Tease. And please.
Perfume lingers on fingers.
Flowers beautify
A man’s bare room.
To buy
Oft does bring
The pleasure of spring
To winter old.
Whilst flowers grow cold.
This is beautiful, Kevin. My next door neighbour gave me a pot of hyacinths for my birthday last week. Their perfume lingers in the air. Such a welcome sight and scent of spring.
I’m delighted you like my poem, Vivienne. Hyacinths are certainly lovely flowers and I’m pleased your neighbour gave you a pot of hyacinths to enjoy. Best wishes. Kevin
And a belated happy birthday to you for last week!
