The below poem, “Fine Rain”, is 1 of 12 poems by me which appears in “Croydon Poetry Hour Anthology 2019/2020”:
I get wet
By this fine
Rain.
Yet,
I do not regret
For the divine
Is in the rain.
I shall get wet
Again
For when
Death does steal
Me away.
I regret
That I shall no longer feel,
The joy of a rainy day.

Well said, Kevin. We must enjoy life while we have it.
Thank you Vivienne. I’m pleased you like my poem. Best wishes. Kevin
The NLA tower! In my time in Croydon, it was known first as the thruppenny bit and then more so as the fifty pee! A sort of barometer of the economy! Iconic! The library space (also) at the Clocktower is a great performance space. Thanks, Kevin, for a another wonderful poem.
I’m delighted you like my poem and many thanks for your kind words about my poetry. I’d forgotten that you spent some time in Croydon, and I’m pleased the photograph on the anthology brought back happy memoris. All the best. Kevin
Thank you, Kevin.
