Miss Bland

I know a middle-aged lady named Bland
Who plays in a traditional brass band.
She is fond of young men
And has a toy boy called Ken,
Who plays along with Miss Bland . . .

Thanks for the smile, Lorraine. I am sure that you are far from being bland, although you may, perhaps have played in a brass band! Best wishes – Kevin

Lol Kevin. I never played in a brass band but I played the oboe in the school orchestra

Ah, you are musical, Lorraine. I played (or attempted to play) the bassoon. It was fun, but I never progressed very far and certainly never played in a brass band or any other kind of band! Best wishes – Kevin

I play the guitar, the American Indian flute, the piano, and every known recorder (lol) but the funniest thing was my friend Deirdre who was only 4ft. 6 inches tall but she played the cello. Often to be seen walking round the quadrangle at school was a cello with two feet at the bottom of it. You could not see Deirdre at all! If you feel so inspired you could write a poem or a limerick about that! It was hilarious. I am too close to it to write I think! I do not have contact with her any more, but she would laugh along with us, knowing it looked so funny!

You are a talented musician, Lorraine. Maybe I will write a limerick about your friend, perhaps something along the lines of: “I said hello To a walking chello. But I shall have to think about how to finish that one! Best wishes – Kevin

Lol thanks Kevin. She is still a.ive, NOT playing a cello any more. I lost contact with her but she never married and now cares for her aged mother (both of us have mothers in their 90s). She was and still is very very religious so she might be reunited with her cello in heaven πŸ˜€

Its a shame when we lose contact with old friends, Lorraine. I hope that (if there is a heaven) that your friend will indeed be reunited with her chello.

        Best wishes – Kevinn

She came to see me when I had cancer, but once I was in remission seemed to want to disengage. So I don’t really know how she is. Yes, I am sure that if there IS a heaven, her cello wiil be there. Along with my oboe lol
