There was a young man called Daniel
Who in looks resembled his spaniel.
A young lady walking by
Said, with a sigh
“I have fallen in love with your spaniel!”.

Who rather resembled his spaniel.
A young lady named Kate
Just couldn’t wait
To walk that spaniel belonging to Daniel!
I know a young lady called Divine
Who often comes round to mine.
Her husband Bill
Swears he will
Come round but not with wine …!
There was a young lady called Hall
Who invited me to a ball,
But when I got there
She said, with a glare
“I didn’t invite you at all!”.
There was a young lady called Hall

“This invitation I fail to recall!”.
There was a young lady from France
Who requested me to dance.
Her best friend Lou
Said “me too”
Which led to a little romance …!

As we waltzed on the dance floor
Her husband, General More
Brandished a very sharp lance!

Who owned one single shoe.
She would hop along,
Singing a song,
That excentric young lady called Lou!

(Or perhaps her name it was Sue).
She worked as a spy
And I’m told she did die
But I really don’t know if that’s true!

Who lay on the ground to die.
When it started to rain
He sang a sad refrain
Which made me want to die!
There was a young poet called Kim
Who dated a fireman named Jim.
On discovering that he didn’t like verse
Matters went from bad to worse
So she dumped that fireman named Jim!

The vicar looked black
And said “alas, alack
I fear that Kim is wasted on Jim!”.
When a lazy young author called Gwen
Sat on a very sharp pen,
She said, with a squeal
“I really do feel
That I ought to start writing again!”.
I know a young lady called Bess
Who wears a little black dress.
She is extremely pretty
And always witty
But her hair’s such a terrible mess!

A policeman named More
Said “stop in the name of the law!
My love for you I must confess!”.
There was a young lady called Leigh
Who one day went to sea
In a fine old ship
With a dog named Chip
And a captain known as me!
