Freedom is the autumn breeze
On the face unmasked,
On a sunny day.
But, the weather does freeze
And, ’tis an easy task
To take freedom away.
Freedom is the autumn breeze
On the face unmasked,
On a sunny day.
But, the weather does freeze
And, ’tis an easy task
To take freedom away.
It is indeed easy to take freedoms away!
Thank you for your comment Vivienne. This poem came to me after having left a pub where I’d enjoyed breakfast. As you know, from Thursday 24th September it became the law that masks must be worn when entering and moving around pubs and restaurants. The only time they do not need to be worn is when customers are seated eating and drinking. After leaving the premises I felt a profound sense of relief at no longer having to wear a mask and being able to feel the breeze and sun on my unmasked face.
