I am pleased to announce that I shall be appearing on Vancouver Co-op Radio’s The World Poetry Reading Series, http://worldpoetry.ca, at 1:10 pm PST, on Thursday 9 August.

I shall be discussing (and reading from) my forthcoming collection “The Writer’s Pen And Other Poems”.

I am grateful to Ariadne Sawyer of The World Poetry Reading Series for her kind invitation to appear on her show. I hope that you will join me this coming Thursday.

For those of you who are unable to do so, I shall link to the podcast of the show once this becomes available.

Forthcoming Poetry Pamphlet

For some time now, I have been working on a new collection of poems which will, I hope be published in September. The pamphlet, which contains a total of 44 poems, is entitled “The Writer’s Pen and Other poems”. Below is one of the poems which will be included:

“My hair is barely wet
At all
And yet
The rain did fall
As I stood
In yonder wood.

The yammer
Of a hammer
Reached my ear,
While the birds free
Sang to me
As I touched the flowers
That know not hours”.

My pamphlet will be available in print initially and (in the longer term) as an ebook from the Amazon Kindle store.

If you would like to register your interest in obtaining a print copy please send an email to me at newauthor online (at) gmail dot com (the address is given thus to avoid spam). The print version will retail at a cost of £4.50 and signed copies can be obtained at no extra charge.

I know a young dominatrix named Maria
Who comes from a placed called Korea.
I don’t like the handcuff
Or other such stuff
But I’m very fond of Maria …

Where’s Noodles

Title: Where’s Noodles?
Author: Victoria Zigler
Genre: Children’s Books – Animal Stories

Blurb:

“Noodles is a strange red creature with a squeaker in his tummy, who just happens to be the favourite toy of a West Highland White Terrier named Lilie. At least, he is now, since the bushytailed squirrel and cuddly triceratops fell apart while she was playing with them – totally not her fault, by the way!

Now noodles is missing.

Lilie’s sure she left Noodles on the living room floor when she went walkies. But when she comes home and goes to fetch him so they can have a nap together, Noodles isn’t there.

Where’s Noodles? Is he somewhere else, or is he lost forever?”

Available in multiple eBook formats, with paperback and audio versions planned for the near future.

Where to find the book:
Smashwords
Barnes & Noble
iBooks
Kobo
Goodreads

About the author:

Victoria Zigler is a blind poet and children’s author who was born and raised in the Black Mountains of Wales, UK, and is now living on the South-East coast of England, UK, with her hubby and furkids. Victoria – or Tori, if you prefer – has been writing since she knew how, and describes herself as a combination of Hermione Granger and Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter books: Hermione’s thirst for knowledge and love of books, combined with Luna’s wandering mind and alternative way of looking at the world. She has a wide variety of interests, designed to exercise both the creative and logical sides of her brain, and dabbles in them at random depending on what she feels like doing at any given time.

To date, Tori has published nine poetry books and more than 40 children’s books, with more planned for the future. She makes her books available in multiple eBook formats, as well as in both paperback and audio. She’s also contributed a story to the sci-fi and fantasy anthology Wyrd Worlds II, which is available in eBook only.

2 Poems About My Guide Dog Trigger

Dog And Ball:

My head full

Of dull
Thought.
Then the ball you caught
And waving your tail
Did derail
My introspection.
How can I suffer dejection
When I recollect your playful snort
And the ball you caught?

Early Morning Walk:

My dog snuffles

and scuffles
amongst the leaves.
He is just there
With no care
For what I think
As I drink
In the fresh morning air.

There Was A Young Lady Called Samantha

There was a young lady called Samantha
Who stole my favourite pet panther.
When the panther came back
He claimed to lack
Any knowledge of what happened to Samantha …

There was a young lady called Samantha
Who stole my favourite pet panther.
She rode away on his back
But alas, alack
Samantha now resides in my panther …

There was a young lady called Samantha
Who stole my favourite pet panther.
The creature gave a growl
Which caused her to scowl
And return my favourite pet panther …

Does Disraeli Awake?

I would like to think that the author of this article is correct in his view that the Conservative Party is seeing a revival of One-Nation Conservatism/Toryism within it’s ranks, https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/08/why-have-the-tories-abandoned-their-promise-to-fight-burning-injustices/?

There Was A Young Lady Called Caroline

There was a young lady called Caroline
Who men thought rather fine.
When out on a first date
She would always clear her plate
But she never crossed that line …

There was a young lady called Caroline
Who men thought rather fine.
She had a sister named Lou
(Who looks rather like you),
But Lou never crossed that line …
