That when some men see innocence
It attracts and distracts them.
They smile, planning how to defile
That which they once had
As a lad
Ere the world corrupted them
And reduced them
To shadows of good men.

You’re correct. Innocence is attractive, but then men (usually men) seek to remove that which they found so attractive.
Sadly you are correct, Vivienne. Although, as you intimate in your comment, it is women also (although to a lesser extent) who destroy innocence.
