After lots of excuses to myself, I have determined to finally sit down and draw together a Selected Poems. Those of you who follow this blog, will know that I have previously mentioned my intention to do this, however, excuses are now at an end and I shall be noticeable by my absence as I work on this project.
To be frank, I enjoy writing which does, on the whole come easily to me. In contrast pulling together a poetry collection and/or selection is a chore, (albeit a pleasant one), hence me not having begun work on it as yet.
Incidentally, if anyone has experience of producing a Selected Poems, I would be interested in hearing from them. My understanding from Amazon is that a poet may produce a Selected Poems and that will not be construed as a duplication of their existing work. Again, if any of my reader’s understanding differs from that outlined above, do, please let me know either by commenting on this post or, alternatively via email to kmorris poet (at) gmail dot com). Please note, the address is rendered thus in an attempt to defeat spammers!

Excellent idea.
Thank you. Best wishes – Kevin
Kevin it will be awesome to publish your poem and Amazon will do it for you. I have just published my own book of poems known as Poets Touch.
Thank you for your kind words concerning my book, and many congratulations on the publication of your own poetry collection. Kind regards – Kevin
Thanks Kevin and all the very best for your book.
I have only ever published one poetry book, Kevin, but I shared to the poetry sharing group. Lots of poets there.
Thanks, Robbie. That is very helpful. Kind regards – Kevin
Ooh how exciting, Kevin! I hope it is, indeed, a pleasant chore & not too complicated a process. Wishing you lots of luck in its compilation & completion. We’ll miss you whilst you’re busy working on it!
Thank you for the good wishes, Debbie. I have indeed been spending a lot of time on the Selection. However I did break off yesterday to write “The Man With The Mop”, on which you kindly commented. I found breaking off from compiling the selection to compose a poem to be a great reliever of stress. Best wishes – Kevin
My pleasure, Kevin. I think sometimes you need to mix & match, when you’re dealing with something that is quite intense. Giving yourself the occasional break will, hopefully, make the task feel a bit lighter & keep your creative thoughts flowing, not just for making your selections, but for afterwards too. All the best with your task, Kevin.
Thanks, Debbie. You are undoubtedly right that taking a break helps to make the task much lighter. All the best – Kevin
