The above photograph shows my poem ‘Lost’. The text reads:

LOST

‘My thoughts lost on the damp air

Going who knows where.

The sodden grass

I pass

Where children play

but not today.

No ball

or bird call.

Only the rain’s incessant fall.’

        That is intriguing. Did you stand for a political party? On Thursday 23 May we have elections for the European Parliament here in the UK and, of course across the EU as a whole.

        Ah, I see. I have sometimes thought of standing as a local councillor but, for various reasons never have. Public service is very important and I’m impressed you stood.
