Tomorrow I shall be forty-nine.
There will be wine
No doubt
And I shall go about
With a smile, for I am not fifty yet.
But you can safely bet
That when I reach that half-century stage
I shall conveniently forget
(For memory fails with age),
And on 6 January twenty-nineteen say
“I am 49 today!”.
Happy Birthday!!!
Thank you, Patty!
Sounds like a jolly good idea to me, Kevin. Happy Birthday.
Thank you, Robbie!
Happy birthday, Kevin
Thank you, Chris!
Many happy returns of the day! Wishing you a beautiful birthday and a great year for the half century mark!
Thank you Annette. I shall certainly enjoy my 49th birthday, both tomorrow and in future years also …! Kevin
Happy birthday to you! ❤🎂
Thank you!
Now that we’re here,
We hope there is beer….
Many happy returns, Kevin, young man.
And I trust, thinking about the wording of your poem, that this year isn’t another 49th birthday!
Thank you for the birthday wishes, Mick! There will certainly be beer, in the pub prior to going on to my favourite Indian restaurant where we shall have wine with the meal. This year I am, indeed 49, although (as I say in my poem) I may stay at that age for some years to come!
Beer is good. Indian food is good. That’s a good aid to growing old gracefully!
Thanks, Mick. Growing old gracefully is, of course the right thing to do. However growing old disgracefully is more fun …
I can recommend it, Kevin.
Happy birthday Kevin!
Thank you, Maja!
