Birds

Dull.
Am I daft
To seek
For knowledge in a book
When I could upon nature look
And hear the birds speak?

Lovely poem. No book’s knowledge equals a poet’s flooding creativity.
Thank you for your comment and liking my poem. Books have their place (and its an important one). However the understanding we gain just from allowing the birds to enter our heart is, I think even mor profound. You are also right that true knowledge comes from within. Kevin
An interesting thought, Kevin. I was saying just this morning that you can learn so much from travelling and actually seeing historical and other sites.
Many thanks Robbie. Indeed you can. Best wishes, Kevin

Kudos to you on using the word daft in your short but sweet poem. My Gram and Mom used to use that word and it brought back some memories that made me smile. 😊
Thank you for the compliment. I am originally from the north-west of England (Liverpool) and the word “daft” is used relatively often there. Best wishes, Kevin
Oh that’s so wonderful my Great Grandpa used to say it all the time and he was Irish and raised in Edinburgh. 😊
