My head full
Of dull
Thought.
Then the ball you caught
And waving your tail
Did derail
My introspection.
How can I suffer dejection
When I recollect your playful snort
And the ball you caught?
My head full
Of dull
Thought.
Then the ball you caught
And waving your tail
Did derail
My introspection.
How can I suffer dejection
When I recollect your playful snort
And the ball you caught?
I love it! I can picture you both in the park.
Trigger is a wonderful subject in your poems.
Thank you Jayne! He is a very special dog. I know that all owners say that about their dogs but, in Trigger’s case it is definitely the case. Best wishes. Kevin
Reblogged this on K Morris – Poet and commented:
Dogs help us to live in the moment, something we humans are often not very good at doing. As someone who grew up around dogs, and has been lucky enough to work with 4 guide dogs, including my current friend and helper, Trigger, I feel privileged to have known the canine companions who have, for a time, enriched my life).
This is so true, Kevin. They’re wonderful companions … without mine I think I would be a very morose kind of person.
Many thanks for your comment. What kind of dog do you have? Trigger is a brindle lab/retriever. Best – Kevin
Hi Kevin. Bella is a Woodle (lol. miniature poodle cross Welsh terrier and Tilly is a parson jack Russel terrier. We always had big dogs before. These little ones need firmer handling … they’re little monsters! ☺
I can imagine that they need firmer handling, as little dogs often have big personalities! Best – Kevin
