The below poem is dedicated to my guide dog Trigger, and my generous colleagues who, from time to time sacrifice their lunch to a hungry canine.
—
I am Trigger.
My stomach is bigger
Than you think.
Your lunch will be gone in the blink
Of an Eye.
Then away I fly.
Should you ask “who stole my lunch?” I reply
“Nnot I
But, dear reader, I lie …!..
I have been known to eat plastic.
My reach is elastic.
You think your food Safe?
My friend brace
Yourself for a shock
For I will gobble the lot!
Be it ever so hot!
Brilliant! A poem about Trigger! He is a dog after my own heart, I must say.
Thank you Lucy! I guess the Dean would not be overly impressed where Trigger to eat his lunch …! Kevin
He would be furious! But then, he is always furious 😉
I guess his irascible nature is one of the reasons we all love the Dean so much!
He is certainly my favourite!
Do you know our dog? Great I loved this.
Glad you liked it! What kind of dog do you have28? Thanks for your comment. Kevin
we have a german shepherd cross collie. He is a beautiful boy but mad as a box of frogs. wouldnt be without him.
I like a dog with character and your four legged friend certainly sounds as though he possesses personality in abundance! Kevin
S.w.e.e.t. My daughter’s dog is always begging and if you’re not looking, he’ll pull things down off the table, tablecloth and all. What a mess! 😀
Your daughter’s dog certainly possesses loads of personality Tess! What breed is he or she? Thanks for your comment. Kevin
Max is a poodle, unlike the female ones, he’s not foo-foo and nervous and loves his human food when he can get it.
Is he a standard poodle or a miniature one? Guide Dogs For The Blind have produced a labradoodle which is good for those with an allergic reaction to dog hair.
Haha, love it! Nicely done 🙂
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it! Best. Kevin

Recently I was talking with my family regarding my guide dog, Trigger. During that conversation my sister, Jane mentioned how a colleague had written a humorous poem about Trigger. Although I have not seen this poem, my sister’s mention of it reminded me of my own poem, which is reproduced below.
I loved this, and I shall keep an eye out for Trigger.
