Some play roulette
And regret
Nought until they choose
To lose
All on the wheel,
That can not feel
Others choose
To lose
All and fall
For a good time girl.
The wheel
Will whirl
And they feel
The thrill of sin.
Some poets spin
A rhyme
About a good time
Girl and the roulette
Wheel that goes round
In circles of regret.
But ’tis nothing profound.
This is lovely Kevin, despite the mention of sin which is actually quite appealin. However I know nothing of roulette.
Thanks, Lorraine. I am not a gambling man (other than the extremely rare occasions when I risk a few pounds on the horses), but I haven’t done so for many years.
I suppose you could call doing the Lottery gambling, but we only buy a limited amount. We only recently started doing the Lottery though, having resisted it for years. I can’t remember ever having had a bet on a horse, though I may have done at some point. As for the sin bit, well I am not telling 😀😀😀
Oh Kevin, I just read your poem Double Bed in your book. It made me cry. Beautiful. Where can I comment on the poems in your book?
