Thank you, Mick. I was, of course already familiar with this quote. However when my mum’s partner recently used it, the germ of a poem developed in my mind. Consequently I owe a debt of gratitude to my mum’s partner for reminding me of this quote and providing me with the inspiration to write the poem.
