Waking early,
And being unable to return to the land of slumber,
Idly I wonder
About our need for sleep,
For we can not pretend
That he will not take us all in the end.
Waking early,
And being unable to return to the land of slumber,
Idly I wonder
About our need for sleep,
For we can not pretend
That he will not take us all in the end.
Sleep is essential, I have had insomnia all my life. I love the poem, haunting. ❤
Thank you for your comment. I am sorry to read that you have had insomnia all your life. I am fortunate in that I usually sleep soundly and hope I never develop sleep issues. Best wishes, Kevin
I sleep well now with medication. Thanks and best wishes to you as well! ❤
Sleep – a short poem with just six lines. Just six lines with a mere 35 words. Yet those six lines conjure up such a thoughtful and I have to say, really quite profound poem and one that made me reflect for some time afterwards on the meaning of our own existence! Well done Kevin. I just hope that further contemplation of this issue won’t keep me awake at night…
Thank you John. I’m really pleased my poem spoke to you. I wish you a good nights sleep this evening and always! Best, Kevin
