In 2016, I published my poem, Squire and Peasant, https://kmorrispoet.com/2016/05/12/squire-and-peasant/.
The above is one of the poems I am minded to read at a poetry reading on Thursday 4 July. This will be a private event (unfortunately not open to the public), hence I wanted to share this poem here in order that it may be more widely enjoyed.

Congratulations, Kevin. Beautiful poem. I hope the reading goes well.
Thank you, Gabriela. I am delighted you like “Squire and Peasant”, and thank you for your good wishes for the reading, I really appreciate your kind words. Best wishes – Kevin
That’s reminded me of a picture in my mind of days gone by..actually, it’s an old print (I think) that my Mom & Dad used to have hanging on their hall wall. There weren’t any hounds, as I remember, but I’m sure the squire & his oppos we’re riding on horseback through the countryside. I’m guessing the peasants were in the stables or tending the land. Thank you for sharing, Kevin & hope your reading goes well.
Thank youfor your comment, Debbie. I would have been interested to see that picture as it sounds interesting. Perhaps it was a print of an original painting. Thanks also for your kind words regarding my forthcoming reading. I very much appreciate them. Best wishes – Kevin
I wish I could remember the name of the artist, Kevin. My brother has the picture now & we don’t get on very well, so can’t ask him. I think much of the artist’s works were of horses in some situation or other. I’ve a feeling it was a print, or lithograph, not an original, & probably one of a pair by the same artist, but quite old. I think my brother did some investigative work on it, after my Mom gave it to him, but I can’t remember the details now, unfortunately.
Thanks for the information, Debbie. Although I am blind (I can see only outlines of objects), I still enjoy having pictures around my home, including a raised jade picture from China, of which I’m rather fond. I am told by sighted friends that it is a lovely picture but, as someone who is visually impaired I like the fact that I can trace the shape of the picture with my hands.
Best wishes – Kevin
I’m glad you’re able to enjoy art, Kevin. Your Jade picture sounds wonderfully tactile, & I’m sure it’s a gorgeous colour too! Coincidentally, I have a few Chinese/Japanese objects, collected mainly from antique fairs over many years, & a few I bought new. They’re mostly ceramics, but not all..no Jade though, but I do enjoy their delicate images & intricate carving.
All the best, Kevin
Its always good to come across a fellow collector of beautiful objects, Debbie. I’m sure your pottery/ceramic opieces provide you with great pleasure. Have a good Thursday and, soon the weekend beckons! – Kevin
Thank you very much, Kevin. Yes, I love my bits & pieces..I guess the things we surround ourselves with are a part of who we are & show our individuality. Yes, I don’t know where the weeks are going..but hooray for the weekend! Hope you have a good one planned, Kevin!
I agree with you that the things we surround ourselves with are an expression of our individuality, Debbie.
Thanks for your good wishes for the weekend. I am meeting a friend this evening for a drink but, other than that have a lazy weekend planned.
All the best – Kevin
