Young lady older man, is there love or a cunning plan? Middle aged man with younger girl, does love exist in this world? What thoughts pass through your heads, as you lie entwined in your bed? Girl are you there or far away? What holds you, makes you stay?
“Oh my darling man why worry? enjoy me while you can. Life is short, I am sweet. Give in to lust then let us sleep”.
Thanks for your comments on my blog, Drew. I’d be interested in reading your short stories, though I’m concerned I may find some of the language a bit offensive to sex workers, and may have a very different point of view.
Many thanks for your comment Kate. My view on sex work is that as with any occupation people enter it for many and varied reasons. Those who enter the profession of their own free will should, of course have their choices respected (the state and society has no business in interfering with what consenting adults do in private). As regards those who have been forced into prostitution the full force of the law should be brought to bare on the people responsible for coercing them into sex work.
In my story, The First Time we meet Becky a young graduate who enters sex work in order to pay off her debts. I wished to avoid the stereotypical view of the sex worker as a poorly educated individual hence Becky has a first class degree in English literature. Becky enters escorting of her own free will and is, I hope an accurate portrayal of the educated person who, for whatever reason enters the world of escorting.
In contrast my other story, Samantha relates how a young lady is forced into prostitution in the English city of Liverpool.
In short I am, as a writer interested in understanding sex work in all it’s manifestations whether freely chosen or otherwise.
As regards the legal position I favour decriminalisation of sex work as this would, in my view serve to protect both sex workers and their clients.
I hope that you will read my online short stories (available on my blog) and Samantha and The First Time which can be found in the Amazon Kindle Store.
Kind regards,
Kevin
