Robert Frost – My November Guest
Thank you for posting the “My November Guest” reading. The entire poem is exactly how we experience November in nothern New England. I’ve always gotten a kick out of the fact that both New Hampshire andV Vermont claim Robert Frost as their own.
You are welcome for the post, Liz. Its great to know that Frost describes autumn in northern New England so well. I think I shall be cheeky and say that we British can also claim Robert Frost as he spent time in the UK (including in conversation with Edward Thomas). I think he may also have composed The Road Not Taken whilst here. Or, at the very least, it was inspired by a conversation with Edward Thomas. But, of course he is, first and foremost a poet of New England. We, will, incidentally be discussing My November guest in my work’s bookclub tomorrow.
Oh, isn’t that funny! I had no idea that you Brits are laying claim to Robert Frost, too.
I am also a fan of Emily Dickinson. However, as she never visited Britain, we British can not lay claim to her. Although perhaps one could write a fictional account of Emily having visited the UK whilst the residents of Amhurst believed she was living in seclusion in their town!
